On the second day of the campaign to remove encroachments in Aligarh metropolis, JCB of the Municipal Corporation demolished the encroachment at the station intersection. During this period, shopkeepers also clashed with the Municipal Corporation team. Some shop owners got the permanent encroachment removed by employing labourers.
To make traffic and drainage effective on the road connecting Center Point, action was taken on January 9 against those who did not remove the encroachments even after identifying permanent encroachments in the year 2019. Under the leadership of Assistant City Commission Thakur Prasad Singh, JCB of the Municipal Corporation demolished the permanent encroachments. Roshni Hotel owner had an altercation with the Assistant Municipal Commissioner for not removing the encroachment at the intersection going from the station to Atal Chowk.
The Municipal Corporation Property Department team did the measurement and asked the owner of Roshni Hotel to remove the permanent encroachment, an argument broke out over this. The Assistant Municipal Commissioner demolished three sheds etc. due to illegal encroachment on the drain. During the campaign, illegal slab iron footings etc. were demolished over the drain on the route from Station Road to Meenakshi Bridge. Those who encroach again were warned. Many building owners, including Galaxy Hotel, have themselves started demolishing their encroachments by employing labourers.
During this time, Roshni Hotel, Phoolchand Store, Agarwal Cocoa Store, Rawal Paan Bhandar, Ramlal Halwai Manager, Avon Chicken Biryani, Harishankar Janal Store, Faizal Kachori Bhandar, Rafiq Hotel, Sonu Dhaba, Ramu Dhaba, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Office, Ranjeet Hotel, Jai Permanent encroachments outside Hind Hair Cutting Salon, Roshni Light India, Jugnu Hotel, BK Sulia Hotel, Anmol Mithai were removed.
